Millions of social media users have already flocked to Meta’s new Twitter wannabe, Threads, but being an early adopter means that you’re going to deal with a lot of technical difficulties and confusing UI features — one of which happens to be the dilemma of having multiple accounts.
Recommended VideosThreads didn’t exactly have a flawless launch, but with Elon Musk continuing to dig a deeper grave for his $44 billion investment, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta is swooping in to give you a much simpler, more user-friendly alternative.
Of course, there are some things to consider before joining in on the fun. For one thing, you need to have an Instagram account to be able to join Threads, so for the time being, the two apps will be interlocked. But if you’ve been wondering about whether you could have multiple accounts on Threads and switch between them like you do on Instagram, we’ve got you covered.
Can you have multiple accounts on Threads?
You can indeed add multiple accounts on Threads and switch between them so long as each of those accounts is connected to a different Instagram profile. The only catch is that since Threads uses the Instagram login page, you’re going to have to manually log out of Threads and then log back into another after switching your Instagram account.
The process is straightforward, but it’s not nearly as impromptu as Instagram, where you essentially switch between profiles through a single tap. We expect Meta to address this with future updates and allow you to seamlessly transition between logged-in accounts — as is the case on Facebook and Instagram — but for the time being, you’re going to have to take it one step at a time.
