If you’re looking for the best Oreo flavors, look no further! We tasted every Oreo flavor currently available to find out which is the best Oreo flavor you can currently buy.
It almost feels like there is an infinite number of Oreo flavors. Every time I thought I had tasted them all, more would appear. Sometimes I would see flavors and couldn’t even tell if they were real or fake! I felt overwhelmed, like I simply couldn’t keep up.
Realizing I probably was not the only person who felt that way, I decided it was our Sporked-ly duty as professional food taste testers to try all the Oreos and let you know which are worth your while. Some were good, some were bad, and a few were perfect.
PS: This list will ebb and flow as Oreo changes their products so check back if you don’t see a new flavor or your current favorite!

Mega StufWalmartI never thought I’d say this, but this is too much Stuf. When the ratio of Oreo creme is this high, the cookies start to taste like chemicals. Stick to Double Stuf if you love Oreo creme. I promise you’ll be happier.

Birthday CakeTargetThese are simply too sweet, even for me (a fan of birthday cake flavor). You don’t get any chocolate flavor from the cookie because the cream is so overpowering. There are better Oreo flavors out there. Trust me.

Dark Chocolate ThinsTargetDark Chocolate Oreos rule, but these Dark Chocolate Oreo Thins do not. Something about the lack of cream in these makes the cream taste exactly like the cookie in a bad way. You get no contrast and I really missed that!

Gluten Free OreosWalmartGluten Free Oreos taste very similar to regular Oreos. That is awesome for gluten free people who love classic Oreos. Sadly, these have the same issues as the classic Oreos.

OreoWalmartClassic Oreos were perfect at one point, but they’ve been improved upon so many times. There’s simply not enough creme. Plus, there are so many other flavors that are just better.

Golden ThinsWalmartThese are fine. They’re pretty nondescript. If you love Golden Oreos and hate Oreo creme, go buy these. Otherwise, stick to one of the other flavors of Oreos.

Java ChipTargetTo me, these are a little unbalanced because the coffee flavor is too strong. It’s just straight-up coffee and not java chip. The potent coffee flavor does pair well with the chocolate Oreo cookies, though. And if you love black coffee, you might like these! I’ll admit that I’m not a coffee lover.

ThinsWalmartOreo Thins have a cult following. Some people really believe that they’re superior to other types of Oreos. I disagree, but I get that they taste good. If you’re looking for a crispy cookie or you’re a creme hater, this is a good option for you.

Caramel CoconutTargetWe all unanimously agreed that these would be fantastic dipped into a hot mug of coffee for an afternoon pick me up or, if you’re me, breakfast dessert (aka the sweet treat you enjoy immediately after your savory breakfast). These are clearly a Samoas knock-off and, while they’re not as good because they don’t have the same texture, their flavor makes them a good approximation.

Fudge CoveredWalmartThis is a great concept, but Fudge Covered Oreos are just a little too sweet. You can have one with some milk and it’ll be a nice dessert. That being said, I prefer the Oreo flavors that have a little more complexity.

S’moreosVonsThese are not giving S’mores necessarily, but these are delicious. You don’t get toasted or marshmallow or even chocolate, really. You mostly get graham cracker flavor. Delicious graham cracker flavor, though, with a hint of chocolate. They taste good!

Chocolate HazelnutVonsThis cookie is like Nutella meets Oreos—what’s not to love?! They’re sweet, a little salty, and nice and crunchy. These are some of the best Oreos to dip into milk. The cold milk and the rich chocolate-hazelnut filling are a match made in heaven.

Toffee CrunchWalmartThe best aspect of Toffee Crunch Oreos is their texture. There are tiny bits of toffee in the creme and it adds a wonderful crunch. The taste, however, is very similar to the Caramel Coconut Oreos. But if you like crunch, get these!

GoldenTargetThe cookie part of these cookies has a sort of Teddy Grahams/animal cracker vibe. The filling is the classic Oreo creme you know and love. Typically, I couldn’t care less about vanilla-flavored anything, but these changed my mind. My favorite touch is that they have a hint of saltiness that makes the cookie’s flavor profile extremely well-rounded. While I feel that most Oreos pair best with milk, I think these would make the perfect dipper for a nice cup of hot tea.

Gluten Free MintWalmartThe gluten free Oreos have cookies that are a tad drier than the non-gluten free Oreos, but they still taste pretty dang close. Mint and chocolate lovers who happen to be gluten free should absolutely buy these.

Lemon ThinsWalmartLemon Oreo Thins feel like a cookie for adults. They taste like something you’d eat for a midday snack while sitting on the porch on a Sunday afternoon. I have never had a porch, but it just seems like the vibe.

Double Stuf Gluten-FreeTargetThese taste so much like normal Oreos that, in a blind taste test, Zack thought the gluten-free Oreos were the classic Oreos. Needless to say, the whole room freaked out. A gluten-free product tasting as good as a gluten-full product is practically unheard of. This feels like a huge win for the GF community and I want to give a big congratulations to them. If you can find a better celiac-friendly cookie on the market, I’d be surprised.

Chocolate Peanut Butter PieTargetI love these because they actually taste like chocolate peanut butter pie. You get flavors of chocolate, peanut butter, and graham cracker. These aren’t the most peanut buttery Oreos of all the peanut butter-based Oreos, but I like that about them!

Oreo!
Lemon$4.19 TargetThe best thing about Lemon Oreos is the authentic lemon flavor. They aren’t artificial at all and don’t have a weird citric acid aftertaste like other store-bought lemon cookies I’ve tried. In my mind, these are summertime Oreos. Their light and citrusy qualities make them feel more appropriate for a BBQ or beach picnic than a traditional Oreo (which I consider a fall food).

ChocolateWalmartThe standard-issue Chocolate Oreos have a less complex and deep chocolate flavor than some of the other chocolate options, but they are still extremely tasty. Their taste is more simple and youthful, like a Fudgesicle. Justine Sterling, Sporked editor-in-chief, astutely pointed out that the inside of these tastes like “Oreo cream mixed with hot chocolate powder,” and she’s 100% correct.

Peanut ButterTargetIf you’re a peanut butter lover, these are the best Oreos for you. They have an actual peanut taste rather than tasting like a peanut butter product. I also love that they were able to keep the cream totally creamy with the addition of a somewhat grainy nut. I’m not the biggest PB fan in the world, but I think you should add these to your snack rotation immediately if you are.

Blackout CakeWalmartThese bad boys have two layers of chocolate creme, one that’s chocolate cake-flavored and one that’s dark chocolate cake-flavored. And they actually taste different! Plus, there’s lots of creme. This is definitely the best Oreo flavor for chocolate lovers.

Double StufTargetIn my opinion, there is no reason to buy a package of classic Oreos. There is simply not enough creme, so they’re too dry. I believe we should phase them out and make Double Stuf the classic, standard Oreo. The ratio of cookie to cream in these is ideal and you still get the delicious Oreo flavor. There is only one small thing I would change about them: the name needs to be changed to Double Stuffed because what and why is “Stuf,” Oreo?

Dark ChocolateTargetHubba hubba! These dark chocolate Oreos have a really incredible dark chocolate flavor. It’s rich, deep, and just a little sweet. They’re not too dark, though. There’s no bitterness. To me, these are absolutely perfect.

MintTargetDon’t let those little girls scare you into silence! These taste better than Thin Mints and are available year round. On top of that, these are hands down the best flavor of flavored Oreos. They’re minty and refreshing without being toothpaste-y. I don’t typically think of cookies as refreshing, but these are as refreshing as a cookie can be. Even people who don’t like mint-flavored treats will like these.

Extra Stuf ThinsWalmartThis is the best Oreo. I will be buying these from here on out. It’s the exact amount of creme and cookie you want. The thin cookie has a great snap. There’s not too much creme. These are relatively new and if Oreo takes them away, I will absolutely freak out. Praying that they don’t for all our sake.
